Man has been compared to the four states of the Lotus by Buddha. Today, Thai Buddhists will offer you the lotus denoting paying homage to Buddha. if this is performed, three Lotus blooms can be found in exchange for three gems or Rattanatrai.

Not only is the Lotus an extremely religiously symbolic flower, it's medicinal properties to talk about. scientists have found that the petals, stem and root all have value within medicine. Many Thai people enjoy eating the seeds of the Lotus and the leaves of an immature plant are especially tasty. The leaf can be used as an insulator to wrap food and cook inside it.
